Welcome to Luhwavi Farms

Luhwavi Farms has provided more than 300 free avocado trees to the farmers around the project and train them practically at the demo plot found in Muwambi village on Avocado Good Agricultural Practice (GAP). Currently, the rate of establishments of avocado organic farming in Lumuli ward is increasing too faster;

The Farm has also provided 100 hass avocado seedlings to Muwimbi Primary school; the school will soon benefit from the income that will be earned from sales of the avocado fruits

The farm has provided employment opportunities. Currently, avocado farm at Muwimbi and more than 50 temporal jobs are created annually (during harvesting, application of fertilizers, farms preparations, seeds transplanting etc.). Permanent jobs are expected after full expansion of the farm;

Luhwavi Farms has established a demo plot (Shamba darasa) at the farm that has already benefited number of avocado farmers in the southern corridor. Iringa District farmers are the primary beneficiaries;

The farm has constructed all-weather roads to its farm, this road has improved accessibility of villages surrounding the project through road transport. The benefiting individuals are from Lumuli ward;

The project has created market for manure produced by farmers keeping livestock around the project area. Luhwavi farms purchases manure at TZS 5,000 per sack of 6 buckets.

The farm also provides village services by its tractor to villagers, vegetables services and clean water services through water well drilled at the farm; and

In a long-run the farm plans to recruit small-scale farmers around the project area as avocado outgrowers. The farm will support these farmers in terms of import supply, extension services and during harvest procure all avocados fruits that will be produced by farmers.
